About us
Ted & I technically met before we were born. Our parents met at church down in LA, back in the early 70s before kids. In 1980, my family moved up north to Big Springs...10hrs north of Glendale. Ted's family stayed down in Burbank until 1989 when they moved up to Castella. We didn't know one another growing up...just remembering that we were always family friends aka christmas card buddies.
In 2000, while I was in Utah at college, Ted moved up to Mt Shasta after a car accident and started working for my dad's plumbing company. In December of 2000, I came home for christmas break and one night for dinner, my parents had invited Ted over. I liked him immediately and got his number from my mom. We started calling each other every once in awhile and writing letters. In April, my parents suggested to me & my roommate that we live up in Alaska for the summer and work at a salmon cannery. They got this idea from Ted, who had done it the summer before and was planning to return that summer. Becky & I decided to do it and flew up to Larsen Bay, Alaska in the beginning of June of 2001. That first day we got there, we saw Ted and it was nice to see someone familiar is such a strange place. It didn't take long for Ted & I to hook up and become a couple. When you're working, living, eating, etc 24hrs a day with someone, you get to know them really fast. We decided that summer that we wanted to get married.
Instead of returning to Provo, Utah to my already rented apartment, Ted & I flew back to Seattle, where our mothers picked us up and drove us home to Big Springs. A year later in July of 2002, we were married in the Portland, OR temple.
The rest is history for now until I have time to write it.
